Over the last 15 years, together with my good friend Helen Mackenzie I have raised nearly £1million for Childline, holding a coveted Childline Patron’s Award.

I sit on several charitable boards, including the Friends of Grendon, The Butler Trust and now spend much of my charitable time dedicated to the innovative young charity, Kicking Off, where I proudly hold the position of Trustee.

Changing Lives. Saving Lives.
Through the power of football, we bring together children from disadvantaged communities for an incredible football tournament in a carnival atmosphere.

For every young person that participates in our tournaments – on average each tournament sees 500 young people involved - we provide a hot meal, clean water and working with volunteer doctors we give each child a medical check, treating any ailments that we can. Once we have run several tournaments and have started to build trust in a community we can work with local NGO’s to help solve longer term issues.

FACT: To date, Kicking Off has diagnosed and treated over 20 cases of malaria.

As well as advising the charity and fulfilling the many legal responsibilities of a trustee I also roll up my sleeves and embark on many adventures in a bid to raise invaluable funds.

In the last 18 months I’ve...

  • Run a marathon, raising over £4,000

  • Been training to ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats, I set off on 23rdAugust and together with the other people I have encouraged to join me we have so far have raised over £10,000

  • Hosted the much loved Capital Corporate Finance Charity Ball, raising over £36,000 this year

  • Been to Ghana to help run several football tournaments and to meet with community leaders.

Together, myself and the team at Kicking Off aim to bring clean water, medical care and education to as many disadvantaged communites around the world as funding will allow. This year – a huge achievement – we held our first tournament the Moria Refugee camp in Greece, bringing hope and fun to thousands of children who have been through the most traumatic experiences and are now living in the most challenging conditions.

It’s Good To Give
Time is precious. So too is life. If everyone could give up a little time, or a few pounds, together we really could make a huge difference.

FACT: Donating to charity releases the organic chemical, dopamine, in the brain that triggers reward motivated feelings (the same chemical that’s released when eating chocolate too!).
